Announcing SIFFA 2026

The festival is coming back. Last year we marked our tenth anniversary, and now we’re delighted to confirm that SIFFA returns for its 16th edition in 2026: another year of independent cinema, international voices, and the conversations that only a festival can spark.

What to expect

SIFFA 2026 will carry forward everything the festival is built on: competitive selections for feature films, documentaries and shorts; masterclasses and industry talks; special screenings; and an awards ceremony celebrating the best of independent filmmaking. Full dates, venues and programme details will be announced here in the coming months.

Filmmakers, get ready

If you’re a filmmaker, consider this your early heads-up. Submissions for the 2026 edition will open soon, and in the meantime, our current filmmaking challenge is a perfect way to start, with winning entries screening at SIFFA 2026.
